Here at Be Modern Ltd we are dedicated to producing stunning fire surrounds, fires, stoves and bathroom furniture. All our furniture is expertly designed and skillfully crafted in the North East of England, using only the highest quality materials; sourced ethically and sustainably.

We are highly regarded for providing excellent customer service and we aim to exceed customer expectations in every aspect of our product and service.

Be Modern Ltd was established in 1964; with 5 employees and a 5,000 square foot factory in Sunderland, equipped with second hand machinery, production began.

60 years later, the company has expanded operations to over 250,000 square feet of production and warehouse space, housing state of the art machinery, employing over 300 local people and supplying customers nationwide.

We believe in staying true to our roots and the key principles our business was built upon, those of integrity, innovation and high quality, responsible manufacturing.

We are proud to be a large employer in our local community, employing over 250 people across a wide range of roles and skillsets.

We are passionate about reducing our impact on the environment and working towards becoming a net zero manufacturer. Our sustainability committee are engaged in projects across the business to ensure all departments and processes are reducing waste, utilising recyclable recourses and operating sustainably across all areas.

Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001:2015, outlining our commitments to continually improve our environmental performance.

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and covers all areas of the business from manufacturing to customer service.

Be Modern Ltd hold full Forest Stewardship Council® chain of custody certification; our guarantee that all timber products used in our furniture are sourced responsibly.
